Our Story

I am proud to introduce you to our family-owned business that was born out of our deep love for authentic Hawaiian culture and products.

AMO — short for Aloha & MahalO — represents the heart and soul of Hawai'i, and our mission to share it with the world.

Fallujah Iraq — military service Fallujah Iraq

Our Roots

Our story starts during a time of service in the United States military. As a family, we were stationed in the Hawaiian Islands, a place of immense beauty, rich traditions, and warm-hearted people.

During our time there, we fell deeply in love with the islands — the culture, the flavors, the sense of community, and the unmistakable spirit of Aloha that touches everything. Hawai'i became home in the truest sense, and when the time came to leave, we knew a piece of our hearts would stay behind.

The Story Behind the Story

Aloha Has No Borders

Gloved hand passing candy to a child in Fallujah Fallujah, Iraq — Giving before AMO existed

Before AMO existed, our founder was already living the aloha spirit in the most unlikely of places. While serving in Fallujah, he started a personal mission called "Shoes for the Fallujah Kids" — collecting packages from families back in the United States and distributing them to local children who had nothing. What started as one idea grew into something that touched hundreds of lives.

AMO family — from service to aloha Hawai'i — The aloha that started it all

That same instinct — to reach across any distance and hand someone something that says "you matter" — is exactly what AMO is built on. Every box we ship carries that same intention.

The Birth of AMO

Leaving Hawai'i was not only a physical move but also an emotional one. We realized that the vibrant spirit of the islands, encapsulated by the concepts of "aloha" and "mahalo," had become an integral part of our lives.

After relocating, we found it incredibly challenging to find the authentic Hawaiian products we had grown to love — island-roasted coffee, macadamia treats, handcrafted goods. We quickly recognized that many others shared this same longing, and that there was a gap in the market for genuine Hawaiian products.

And so AlohanMahalO.com was born — a bridge between the islands and the rest of the world, making it possible for anyone to experience the authentic flavors and craftsmanship of Hawai'i.

"We didn't just want to sell Hawaiian products — we wanted to share the feeling of being in Hawai'i."

Our Mission

At the heart of AMO is a simple yet profound mission: to spread the spirit of Aloha throughout the world. We believe that through authentic Hawaiian products, we can share the warmth, generosity, and beauty of the islands with everyone.

We are committed to authenticity and quality. We work closely with local artisans, craftsmen, and family businesses across the Hawaiian islands, ensuring that every product we offer meets the highest standards. Each item is carefully curated to reflect the true essence of Hawai'i.

When you shop with AMO, you're not just buying a product — you're supporting the communities and traditions that make Hawai'i so special.
